Description
Lines, shapes and space! Oh, my! The emphasis is on a variety of works of art as students investigate how artists use the elements of art and principles of design and write and draw their own ideas. Students need pencil, paper and scissors.

Students Will
  • use their observation skills to identify elements of art and principles of design in works of art from the Nasher Collection
  • Connect what they observe about each artwork with information about the artist's style and process
  • Engage in interactive activities such as sketching and movement to further their understanding of an artwork

Scheduling / Booking
Instructions: Visits should not be considered booked unless you have contacted the Nasher Sculpture Center and a confirmation email has been received. Call 214.242.5170. Three or more weeks in advance is suggested to reserve your desired tour time. Guided school tours are offered on Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 10 am and 11 am. Self-guided tours are offered most hours the Center is open. On a school tour, sixty people is the maximum number allowed per hour to visit the Center.
Deadline: 3 weeks before lesson
Cancellation Policy: Please contact the Nasher Sculpture Center (214-242-5170) as soon as the decision is made to cancel the school trip, so another school can have the opportunity to schedule that tour time.
After School Policy: Self-guided tours should not be considered booked unless you have contacted the Nasher Sculpture Center and a confirmation email has been received.
