Description

U.S. Presidential dining experiences bring to life a culinary component not often thought of in the American mindset. There are fascinating characters and stories from the U.S. President's to keep the student's imagination flowing. What foods they brought to the White House and to the world stage connects the student in the country's rich history, merging of cultures, and facilitates learning about geographical, governmental and economic systems. Discovering our country’s presidents and their challenges, struggles, and accomplishments can really build into the heart of a child what it is to be a hero. Students can learn so much about our national heroes from George Washington to President Obama, each decade brought new challenges and adventures for America. Favorite foods of the presidents and the impacts that various meals had on the president's times in office are a great way to connect the past history of America with their current world and will help students connect social studies and history into their daily lives. This program has visuals and interactive cooking actives for all students as well as informative facts to build students interest in exploring history. Chefsville’s virtual programming with Zoom/Skype combine lessons, images, videos, cooking demonstrations and equipment to explore the connections with math, science, language arts and social studies to cooking. These fun programs help students understand what it is like to work with food and connect skills they learn in the classroom.
