Description

CURTAINS UP ON READING RESIDENCY: A Multi-Sensory Unit of Study. Students go back to the days of chivalry, knights, and ladies. A Curtains Up Residency connects shape and silhouette with the Middle Ages, as students learn about Gothic architecture, period clothing, tapestries, and the legends of King Arthur. Students will begin to identify the political, religious, and cultural factors of the Middle Ages and to comprehend the feelings and life-styles associated with Europe during the era. DCT has developed and perfected this creative curriculum and creative teaching style over several years.

Students Will

  • Work with a professional theater artist to explore the world of the Middle Ages and actively learn curriculum through this innovative multi-sensory approach.
  • Act out stories and literature of the Middle Ages (for example: King Arthur, The Reluctant Dragon) to take ownership of classroom lessons and be excited about learning.
  • The Reluctnat Dragon Kenneth Grahame ISBN # 0-8050-0802-0
