Located in the 1892 “Old Red” Courthouse downtown, the Old Red Museum of Dallas County History & Culture tells the rich stories from pre-historic times to today. Students delight in the exciting interactive exhibits, hundreds of rare artifacts, photographs, original films and The Children's Education Center, a hands-on history gallery. Teachers may visit the museum and enjoy a self-guided group visit, or teachers may also book one of our hands-on TEKS specific History Labs to complement their museum visit. All school programs and educational materials are developed with local educators to align with specific TEKS and Social Studies strands and enrich curriculum at all grade levels.

Cancellation Policy: Cancellation Policy: Cancellations must be made a minimum of 2 weeks (10 business days) in advance. If you choose not to come on your scheduled day and have not rescheduled, your school or ISD will be responsible for 100% of the amount due for your trip. If your school or ISD is closed on the day of your trip due to inclement weather or other emergencies, we will make every effort to reschedule. If no make-up day is available, you will be refunded the cost of your program. Please understand that when you schedule a school program, the museum schedules staff and volunteers to make the program possible.
