Lynn Moon, MPS R.D.M.T. is a native Texan who has been involved in dance her whole life. She received a B.A. in art history and dance from Washington University in St. Louis, and her masters in Dance Therapy from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn N.Y.. While in N.Y. Lynn studied with Alvin Ailey, Martha Graham and the Morelli Ballet. Lynn is registered with the American Dance Therapy Association and is a certified children’s yoga teacher through Karma Kids, Radiant Child Yoga, and YogaEd..
Lynn has been a Dance Therapist since 1984 and has worked with a variety of populations such as Alzheimer’s patients, developmentally delayed youth, special needs children and at risk youth. She is an independent contractor through Big Thought [www.bigthought.org] and Dance to Live [www.dancetolive.org] which are both non-profit organizations in the D.F.W. metroplex. Lynn also works in hospitals, schools and residential treatment centers on an ongoing basis.
Lynn has developed special needs dance programs that have been integrated into Dallas schools and homeless shelters, as well as area hospitals. Lynn loves to combine colorful props and music with movement expression, and believes that anyone can dance and experience the joy of movement.
Lynn Moon Schellenberg is a former Young Audience artist and has joined the Big Thought artist roster to provide programs through Thriving Minds and ArtsPartners. Lynn Moon Schellenberg has been a long-term provider of Big Thought programming, including curriculum integrated arts experience performances, residencies and master classes.
