Description

Write On! is a playwriting and performance workshop that develops confidence, creativity and communication skills through a fun approach to live theater. Young people develop confidence, creativity and communication skills by collaborating to create dramatic scenes through writing exercises, improvisation and structured theater games. Students will develop a final performance based on their own ideas, inspired by their own stories, a piece of literature, a work of art, or Social Studies material. Write On! meets Language Arts and Fine Arts TEKS.

Students Will

  • Learn about various approaches to creative writing.
  • Generate ideas and plans for performance writing by using pre-writing strategies.
  • Increase self-confidence on and off stage.
  • Literacy Connection: Show Time!: Music, Dance, and Drama Activities for Kids by LIsa Bany- Winters. ISBN 9781556523618
