Description

This is a first person interpretation/performance of the life and experiences of Sam Houston, President of the Republic of Texas and Governor of both Texas and Tennessee. Born in Tennessee, Sam Houston ended up in Texas before the Texas Revolution started and became the Commander of the new Texas Army. As Commander, he defeated Mexican President Santa Anna at San Jacinto and gave Texas its independence. He went on to become both the first and third elected President of the Republic of Texas and the first Senator from the State of Texas and, finally, the Governor of the State of Texas.
