Standards

Description
Kids will learn the fun art of balloon twisting in this hands-on interactive class. This one hour repeatable class ties in with math and science. Students will learn how to operate a balloon hand pump to blow up their balloons, and learn about air pressure. They will see the instructor blow up, twist, and design various balloon creations. The students will then be given step by step instructions and be asked to follow those instructions to twist their own balloon creations. Self expression will be encouraged as students use their own artistic ability to vary the basic designs. This class teaches team building and builds self esteem! Children will get to take home all balloon creations that they make themselves after the class.including dogs, swords, bees, and more! This is a great after school class, spring break class, or summer class! Grades 3-8

  • learn science concepts such as air pressure and volume,
  • learn about fractions and units of measure as children twist balloons into quarters, thirds and various shapes.
  • learn team building as students assist their classmates in balloon inflation and twisting.
  • have their self esteem explode off the charts as they “show off” several balloon creations that they have made themselves. They will get to take home everything they make!
  • Play interactive physical games involving balloons.

Details
Dates: Monday - Friday, weekends or summer!
Times: 3:00-6:30 p.m., Spring Break, or any time during the summer or on weekends.
Duration: 2-1 hour classes or 1-2 hour class.
School Fee: Flat Rate: $250.00

Price Per Additional Workshop: $150.00

Technical Needs: 1-2 after school grown up assistants. Need sharpie pens and scissors.
Other Information: 2 back to back 1 hour classes are available. Limit 15 children per class. Performer will provide all materials for each class. Please just provide a trash can and perhaps some sharpie markers so children can decorate the balloon animals by drawing on eyes.

Deadline: cancellation no later than 2 weeks before event.
Cancellation Policy: Bookings may be cancelled up to two (2) calendar weeks before performance without penalty. Bookings cancelled within two (2) calendar weeks of performance but up to one (1) calendar week before performance may be rescheduled as artist's bookings allow. Bookings cancelled within one (1) calendar week of performance will require balanced paid in full and rescheduling is at artist's discretion.
After School Policy: Teachers are required to remain in room during performance. Artist will discuss and define the seating area and performance area prior to start of performance. Photographs are permitted as well as short video clips. Please tag us on Facebook at: Margaret A. Clauder.
