Description

Using props, puppets, costumes, rhythm instruments, story and chants, Lynn captivates students in this delightful playwriting workshop. Students are encouraged to act scenes as the play is developed. Elements of caricature, plot, dialogue, scene structure, dramatic irony, conflict, main idea and theme are introduced in a dynamic, interactive way. The residency builds towards a performance of selected scenes for peers from other classes. The puppets have a magical way of encouraging enthusiastic creativity. Lots of fun! The Pied Piper of Hamelin is an option for the program and references Robert Browning's poem. Other options are Charlie and the Chocolate factory or A Zulu tale from Africa.
