Description

Students will create rhythms by using the award winning, RHYTHM CLOCK manipulative, which combines math concepts and music into one teaching manipulative tool (distributed through RBI Instruments). With this tool, students will create rhythmic patterns for the original song while associating fractional breakdowns. Also, TAO artists create songs with numeric students’ birthdays. Melodies and songs are created from the students’ birth dates (using numbers and solfege), This workshop will also identify music symbols (such as notation and how it relates to fractions.

Students Will

  • Participate in creating songs with the teaching artists
  • Retain a better understanding of their current math curriculum
  • Learn retainable and sustainable songs that help understand proportions
