Standards

Description
Yoga is not always practiced on a mat and is perfect for the classroom experience. This is Yoga customized for the brevity of class space and time. Students gain focus, discipline, calmness, patience – all while maintaining their own personality, creativity, and style. They learn how to move into, sustain, and release poses, how to manage their emotions, breathe through, and respond to challenges. Fun Yogic games help build endurance, strength, flexibility - in body and mind. How does a pose provide both energy and dynamic relaxation? Yoga provides the perfect platform for addressing self-image, peer pressure, self-esteem, confidence, and personal self-care. Self is mentioned several times for a reason. Yoga Is Emotional Literacy!

Students Will

  • Develop coordination and self-control through sequential yoga postures
  • Participate in games that strengthen cooperative skills
  • Discuss healthy food, body and mind connections
  • Demonstrate competency in fundamental movement patterns and proficiency in a few specialized movement forms.
  • Develop positive self-management and social skills needed to work independently and with others

Dates: Monday - Saturday
Times: 8:00 - 6:00 p.m.
Duration: 50 minutes each session
School Fee: $395 for two back-to-back 50 minute sessions (25 students per session) * each additional same day session is $200 each

All Animal Encounter pre-recorded Asynchronous programming links will be available for three consecutive school days. Other links vary from 2-3 days. Ask about weekend bookings.

Cancellation Policy: A program is confirmed when you receive your contract. Should inclement weather or other unforeseen emergency circumstances prevent the program from taking place as scheduled, we will offer the option of rescheduling. All cancellations are subject to full payment. With the exception of unforeseen circumstances, changing the date of a specific session can be made with two weeks' notice and is subject to the availability of the artist.
After School Policy: A teacher or afterschool employee must be with the students at all times to assist with classroom management. They are also responsible for supervising the students before and after class, walking students to the bus or releasing students to their parents.
