Time Frames
During School Day
Field Trip
4th, 5th, 6th, Talented/Gifted

Dallas County evolved through the innovative spirit of people with hopeful dreams of a better life. Students learn about some of the exciting businesses and inventions that started in the Dallas area, including the Texas Instruments’ integrated circuit, 7-Eleven and the Slurpee, and Fritos Corn Chips to name a few. Through a variety of hands-on stations, students investigate important “firsts" and identify Dallas inventors who impacted history. Investigating old and new technology, manufacturing advertisements for a local Dallas business, building their own circuit board, inventing a new product, designing and evaluating one another's advertisements, and working as team on critical thinking objectives are all part of the fun and excitement of this inventions program.
