Description

Students will learn shapes through mnemonics and floor-based shapes. (This program is great way to build knowledge of geometry and its uses.) Once the demonstration is finished, students have the opportunity to use creative movement and create their own dances, internalizing the use of space. Various styles of music are used as a way to incorporate perception and imaginative thought to a unique way to learn shapes and their properties. Using their feet and body movements, students will dance with a specific 4/4 meter and associated rhythmic patterns.

Students Will

  • Build spatial reasoning
  • Learn their shapes better by internalizing the lesson
  • Move and create while building math knowledge
