Description
What kinds of items would someone from another culture find in your room? Would the items represent who you are as a person, what you believe, or what country you're from? Everyday anthropologists and archaeologists analyze how everyday objects reflect the people who own them. This Discovery Box includes objects that peoples around the world would use on an everyday basis. They reflect what kind of environments the peoples live in, what kinds of houses they live in, what they eat, and even how they may look! Your job is to try to discover what the people are like by the objects that they use. Included activities encourage students to make inferences about environments, lifestyles, and other aspects of life and culture. Box includes items from Mexico, Nigeria, The Phillipines, Ecuador, Peru, and Bolivia.
