Description

Celebration of Self is an uplifting experience that teaches students the importance of celebrating who they are each and every day. They go on a personal journey that challenges them to honor their joy factor, applaud their gifts and talents, and recognize the important people in their lives. *** Students design personal journals that allow them to sift through experiences in a supportive, non-judgmental, safe space where true expression is treasured. *** Throw in dynamic discussions on how to manage difficult situations, sprinkle in a bit of yoga for breathing-centering-calming-energizing, and students have the tools they need to thrive. *** During the process participants generate research topics from personal interests and experiences, write brief stories, create artworks based on personal observations and share the conclusions about personal artworks. *** Celebration of Self cultivates personal awareness, strengthens communication, cooperative learning and emotional literacy skills, and creates opportunities for each individual to shine!
