Description

Trinity River Dixie Kings: Sounds of New Orleans Explore the great musical traditions of our early years when Dixieland music was the pride of our country. Dixieland jazz musical roots started in the early 1900's with a great sound with plenty of rhythm and sycapation that had folks dancing the jitterbug. This music style started with a upright piano and progressed to small ensembles traveling from city to city. Some dixieland jazz tunes that we are familiar with today include: "When the Saints go Marching In" and "Basin Street Blues" . No one can visit New Orleans without hearing the classic sound of dixieland jazz.
