In this two- and half-hour program, participants will have the opportunity to have free unstructured play in the Climb, Crawl, Slide sculpture, explore the lower level play installations, and learn the creative process through creative instruction. Create your own anamorphic art to explore how light travels in a straight line until it strikes an object and travels to one medium to another such as reflection in a mirror. Participants will learn that light is a form of energy that can be compressed and reflected onto another surface. Participants will use recycled materials and exaggerated and morphed imagery to create original artwork that is compressed when mimicking a cylindrical mirror.

Students Will

  • will be inspired by the anamorphic images and physical components associated to create their own anamorphic art on recycled soda cans.
  • will add their own personalization and or messaging to make a unique art piece inspired by exaggerated imagery.
  • compressed images and iterate until the image covers the cylwill evaluate their shapes and imagery intoindrical mirror.
