Description

Using songs, poems, role play, modeling, stories, drawing, creativity and other interactive activities, students will be taught two social skills selected by the teacher from the list of Anger Management, Respect, Anti-Bullying, or Self-Esteem. Students will learn how to identify the social skill being taught and explain how they can apply the skill to their life. Students will be taught a subject related poem for each subject selected. The aim is to teach Social skills through poems, not to teach the poem itself. Generation-To-Generation does not use the traditional method of teaching students they are engaged and motivated, which helps to make the lesson memorable.

Students Will

  • Add ryhming lines to poems that are presented.
  • Roleplay skills and concepts being taught.
  • Create a beat for the poem
  • Discuss what the poem is telling them
  • Explain how the poem relates to your everyday-life
