Standards

Description

Students experience the unfolding of significant American events including customs, celebrations, symbols, and patriotic songs. They participate in Q&A, singing, and movement as the presenter progresses through the various eras of American history. *** Students gain a better understanding of the origins of The Pledge of Allegiance, the design of the American flag, and the patriotic songs that speak to our sense of freedom, inventiveness, and citizenship. *** Through music, storytelling, and audience interaction, students explore the origins and purposes of American patriotic songs, which help them remember the origins of our history and our basic democratic values.

Students Will

  • Discuss how songs united Americans in times of war, celebrations and significant events
  • Explore historical and diverse cultural influences from a variety of sources through dramatic activities
  • Identify different points of view about an issue, topic, historical event, or current event
  • Describe how people and events have influenced local community history
  • Respond to sounds, music, images, language, and literature using movement

All Animal Encounter pre-recorded Asynchronous programming links will be available for three consecutive school days. Other links vary from 2-3 days. Ask about weekend bookings.

Cancellation Policy: A program is confirmed when you receive your contract. Should inclement weather or other unforeseen emergency circumstances prevent the program from taking place as scheduled, we will offer the option of rescheduling. All cancellations are subject to full payment. With the exception of unforeseen circumstances, changing the date of a specific session can be made with two weeks' notice and is subject to the availability of the artist.
After School Policy: A teacher or afterschool employee must be with the students at all times to assist with classroom management. They are also responsible for supervising the students before and after class, walking students to the bus or releasing students to their parents.
