Description

We will dispel Myths with Facts, while traveling through 5 different continents, in search of 8 special boas and pythons, within a sports-related theme. Students are active spectators sorting through the similarities and differences of these fantastic slithering creatures! Choose your team Boa or Python in this spectacular Tournament of Cold-Blooded Champions. Children learn best when they are intrigued, challenged, involved, and entertained. Emphasis is placed on Reading Literacy as students learn the Geography, Scientific Terminology, and Natural History of each animal. *** Animal ambassadors also help promote other school themes. Ask about Bullying Prevention, Personal Choices, and Cultural Differences.

Students Will

  • Explore countries and continents that the animals inhabit
  • Be engaged through vocabulary, word meaning, and reading for understanding
  • Develop oral language through listening, speaking and discussion
  • Obtain and process the scientific terminology and characteristics of each animal
  • Use counting, measuring, and size comparisons of each animal to solve everyday math problems
  • Observe and understand the similarities and differences between boas and pythons based upon physical traits and characteristics, location distribution in the world, methods of birth, and size/weight comparisons of each group member presented
