Description

TDO Touring Opera brings a fully-staged production of Offenbach's Pepito to your school's cafeteria, gym, or auditorium. This charming one-act opera explores the comedic devotion and resilience of young love and courage. This perfect introduction into the world of opera is sung in English with a full set, complete costumes, and piano accompaniment. TDO provides cross-curricular, TEKs-aligned lessons to connect the performance and opera to math, language arts, social studies, music, and visual arts. Students Will

Other Information: Submit a Reservation Request at dallasopera.org/education_material/touring-opera/. All programs are accompanied by cross-curricular, TEKS-aligned lesson plans.

Scheduling / Booking

Instructions: You MUST submit a reservation request by visiting https://dallasopera.org/tdo_education_portal/. Choose the appropriate program and enter your voucher information in the comments section when applicable. Your voucher will not be confirmed until a request has been received from our online reservation request process. Please direct all questions to [email protected] or call 214.443.1082.
Deadline: Ongoing throughout the school year. First come, first served. Visit dallasopera.org/edu to choose date and submit reservation request.
Cancellation Policy: All sales are final. There are no refunds for school performances. In the event of inclement weather, The Dallas Opera will do everything we can to reschedule. Dallas Opera events will cancel when Dallas ISD closes due to weather.
After School Policy: After school providers are required to provide TDO with detailed instructions on entering the school in after hours, provide a primary contact with a direct cell phone number and grade level of students. At least 1 staff member must be present for the duration of the program Please be sure that the performance space is clear because the cast and crew will bring a full set, costumes, and a keyboard. The space must be a GYM to accommodate the full set, costumes, and keyboard (25ft x 25ft). You must also provide a private area so that the cast can get into costume. Members of school faculty/staff must be present at all times while we are on your campus presenting our program. Please be sure that faculty and staff members actively ensure that students are not disruptive during the workshop or performance. Any behavioral problems that result in a disruption of the program will be addressed by the TDO Education Staff once. The school faculty/staff members present will be given 5 minutes to get the disruption under control and the program will resume. Should a problem arise a second time, the TDO Education Staff reserves the right to end the program.
