Description

Each student will be given fun colorful exercises and journaling worksheets concerning what it means to be grateful, why it's important to have an attitude of gratitude and how to share their gratitude with others! I will teach students how gratitude helps people feel more positive emotions, enjoy good experiences, improve their health, deal with adversity, and build strong relationships. Gratitude is an emotion similar to appreciation, and research has found neurological reasons why so many people can benefit from this general practice of expressing thanks for our lives, even in times of challenge and change.

Students Will

  • Learn what it means to be grateful
  • Be given strips of pre cut stock paper to write on
  • Be given pencils or markers to write 4 to 5 things they are grateful for
  • Write to 2 or 3 classmates/teachers what they appreciate about them
  • Be given small plastic gratitude jars to place their notes in and share
  • Decorate their personal jars with decals and colorful stickers
  • Take their personal gratitude jars home to share with their families and keep it going!
