Description

Join us for an investigation about how animals interact with their environment and what it takes to meet the basic needs of animals. Observe zoo animals in a variety of habitats and discuss what makes each habitat unique.

Students Will

Dates: Programs are available Monday through Friday.
Times: 4 tours per hour, Monday through Friday at 10:30, 11:30 and 12:30
Duration: 45 minutes
School Fee: $150 per tour, 20 students per tour

Technical Needs: Dallas Zoo educators will log onto link provided by the school (unless school requests link from the Zoo). Dallas Zoo educators will need screen sharing permissions for video and audio. We recommend students have access to the chat feature to ask questions, make predictions, and share observations.

Scheduling / Booking

Instructions: Your LearningPartners voucher is NOT a reservation. To schedule a field trip or program, you must register at www.dallaszoo.com, at least 2 weeks in advance of the requested date AND include your LearningPartners voucher number, approval code, and amount approved when you submit your request form. LearningPartners funding will not be applied retroactively to your reservations. Your field trip or program is confirmed when you receive a confirmation letter from us which includes a reservation number. Field trips and programs cannot be scheduled at the Children’s Aquarium at Fair Park during the State Fair of Texas. Your school may still owe a balance if the total reservation cost is not covered by LearningPartners. Visit website for complete scheduling details.
Deadline: Programs must be booked 2 weeks in advance of program date.
Cancellation Policy: Your reservation may be rescheduled once without penalty. Additional reschedules will be charged $25 per instance. Reschedule dates must be at least two (2) weeks in advance. Cancellations must be received in writing at least one (1) week prior to the date of your visit. Refunds will not be issued for any amount under $20, for cancellations made within one (1) week of the scheduled date, or for no-show groups. Your school (and/or Big Thought/LearningPartners if using LP funding) will be invoiced for the total reservation cost if you fail to show for your field trip/program or cancel within one (1) week of the scheduled date. We will do our best to accommodate late arrivals, but we reserve the right to cancel or adjust programs as needed. The Dallas Zoo and Children's Aquarium at Fair Park reserves the right to change these policies without notice. Inclement Weather Policy: The Dallas Zoo and Children's Aquarium at Fair Park are open rain or shine. Field trips and programs will be canceled if DISD is closed due to inclement weather. Rescheduling fees due to DISD closure will be waived. Reschedule dates must be at least two (2) weeks in advance. We will do our best to accommodate late arrivals, but we reserve the right to cancel or adjust programs as needed. The Dallas Zoo and Children's Aquarium at Fair Park reserves the right to change these policies without notice.
After School Policy: A teacher or responsible adult must be present throughout the entire program. After school programs can be held outdoors or indoors, but a temperature controlled heated/cooled facility must be readily accessible for outdoor programs.
