Description

Students learn that within an ecosystem, producers, consumers, decomposers, predators and prey have unique adaptations which allow them to occupy diverse niches. All of these organisms work together forming food chains and food webs which enable an ecosystem to survive. Students investigate different plant and animal adaptations through hands-on activities and experiments. This residency includes one 1.5 hour session every week for seven weeks.

Students Will

  • Compare and contrast food chains and food webs
  • Investigate different ecosystems
  • Discover the ways the earth's resources help plants grow and change
