Description

Acting Workshop for Children and Young Adults. Ms. Cora Cardona has developed a one-hour acting workshop consisting of theater games that stimulate the five senses in order to develop concentration, creativity, and an enhanced understanding of stage timing and space. Latin American mythology, folk tales, history, poetry, and literature are used as a basis for this exploration. Through theatrical games that help develop the five senses, children will learn different areas of theatre and emotional energy. For instance, a particular piece of music will stimulate the child to create a short story. Visually, a painting will allow the imagination of the child to create another story, etc. Using all five senses, the stories created by the children will come from the experience of the diverse Latino cultures in the areas of history and mythology. Physical warm ups and vocal exercises will start each session.

Students Will

  • Warm up physically and vocally
  • learn about mythology
  • recreate actions through imagination
