Description

We bring the recording studio to you. Students learn the basics of music and songwriting and produce a professional CD of an original song. They experience the production process which includes detailed discussion on how lyrics (our words) represent us to the world. Students spend time writing and fine tuning the message before delving into the musical aspect of their process. They combine their talents for singing, art design, and sound engineering in a real recording studio environment. Our goal is 100% participation and a final project that all students will be proud to call their own. All participants receive a personal CD of their creative compilation. Requires 8 sessions for full residency. Separate sessions also possible.

Students Will

  • Perform independently, with accurate intonation and rhythm, demonstrating fundamental skills and basic performance techniques.
  • Design original artworks and analyze personal artworks to interpret meaning.
  • Develop technical skills through use of the microphone, multi-track recording machine and keyboard.
  • Formulate open-ended questions about the major research topic.
  • Generate research topics from personal interests or by brainstorming with others.
  • Examine social relationships in theme development and explore the use of language in creating lyrics.
  • Explore the use of Math elements in musical notations.
