Description
Celebrate your family and culture during this interactive Library Live! program that is especially designed for families and the community-at-large. Listen to poems and/or readings of famous authors who have written about their own families and/or cultures, noting the similarities and variations in their styles. If you are interested in CREATIVE writing or learning about the writing process, you will enjoy lively discussions and fun activities that will assist you in taking pen to paper to capture fond memories, special occasions and significant people in your life.
Students Will
Engage with the community in the activities of reading and writing for pleasure
Connect with one another by exploring, in reading and writing, cultural lessons in relation to the family
Strengthen community bonds by sharing their writing in a culminating event
Have LOTS of fun!

Residencies of 10 sessions or more result in a printed anthology of students' work and the opportunity for students to show off newly developed skills in a public reading to friends and family.

2 weeks in advance
Cancellation Policy:
A minimum of 48 hours notice is required to cancel a scheduled date. If 48-hour notice is given, we will reschedule the date, based upon the availability of the Instructor. If 48-hour notice is not given, we will bill for the date scheduled and not reschedule the date.
After School Policy:
At least one school representative/teacher must be present in the classroom at all times. 25 students maximum per class. Minor adjustments can be negotiated.
