Empowering Through the Arts (ETTA) is a non-profit arts education and implementation organization focused on bringing multiple arts disciplines alive for youth, families and senior citizens throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex area. Across this country, arts education is being attacked as a dispensable curriculum in schools. We, at ETTA, believe that the presence of the arts enhances a student’s educational experience while undergirding the core curriculum. It has been documented the arts disciplines when present in/after school instill confidence and leadership qualities. For at-risk youth, art can be life changing and lifesaving. In using artistic mediums, creativity sparks exploration, conversation and freedom which leads to discovering and healing the root pain or problem. Although ETTA has been fully operational for three calendar years, this mission and vision have been the brainchild of visionary art educator and our founder, Rolanda Brigham. She along with our diverse staff of teaching artist have invaded the arts in education community throughout DFW bringing dynamic programming which aids in bridging the gaps in the core curriculum. ETTA’s programs provide a safe and nurturing learning environment in which the student is encouraged to step outside of their comfort zone and explore the world of the arts. Their curiosity will be cultivated with the exposure to learning from professional working artists. Through arts integrated enrichment programs, students will develop a sense of who they are and where they fit in. ETTA will also design and implement programs to suit your specific needs! Students will be actively engaged in warmup exercises, motivational artistic games, group dynamics, individual enhancements, SEL (Social Emotional Learning), conflict-resolution games and self-esteem initiatives. ETTA helps youth to stand strong and solid in whatever career field they choose! Partnering with ETTA will afford your students the following outcomes: • Demonstrate an enhanced grammatical and verbal command of the English language; • Display heightened problem solving and decision-making processes; and, • Exhibit improved application of critical thinking skills and effective communication. It is ETTA’s vision to invest in community learning centers and schools that provide academic enrichment opportunities during non-school hours for children, particularly students who attend high-poverty and low-performing schools. Let ETTA take your students on a journey they will not soon forget!
