Description

A Telly Award winning puppeteer, Kent Williams brings a touchable collection of string puppets into the classroom for a unique, hands-on experience during which students explore the design, construction and manipulation of marionettes. Students create one-of-a-kind marionette puppets, learn manipulation techniques, perform an original show and then take their puppet creations home as a keepsake. Character options range from the simple and cost-effective Cereal Box Fliers (bats, butterflies, angels, dragon, birds) to the durable Woody Walkers (wooden, 2-legged birds). For both projects, Kent supplies all tools and decorative materials necessary including gluesticks, wiggle eyes, construction paper, wooden rulers (controllers), string and electric staplers (Woody Walkers). The Woody Walker project requires the purchase and prep of lumber at a negotiable per student rate.
