Description
”Olmo and the Blue Butterfly” (Interactive paint-bucket theatre experience- Great for Pre-K and Kindergarten) Join Olmo on his quest as he uses various modes of transportation to catch up to the blue butterfly. First, Dana reads the story in English and Spanish to students, building suspense with them and interacting during the reading. Next, using the props and puppets in her paint bucket, Dana dramatizes the story introducing students to theatrical terms and story concepts (setting, characters, stage, etc.) and students must recall the modes of transportation Olmo uses to get the butterfly in sequence. Then Dana portrays Olmo and the students create the flight of the butterfly as together they retell the story. In conclusion, we discuss whether we believe Olmo dreamed the whole thing or whether it really happened, and support our theory with evidence from the book (there is no right or wrong answer-- just interpretation).

Instructions: To schedule, contact Dana at 214-460-0063 or [email protected]. Available all mornings, Monday - Saturday. Available afternoons from 4:30-6PM Monday - Saturday
Deadline: Two weeks in advance.
Cancellation Policy: A program is confirmed when you confirm your booking via phone, mail, fax, or email. Should illness, inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances prevent the program from taking place as scheduled, Dana Proulx-Willis will offer the option of rescheduling. Programs canceled by a school or community presenter after confirmation are subject to full payment. A $25 rescheduling fee will be charged if a schedule change is requested after a program has been confirmed.
After School Policy: A teacher or after school employee must remain with class at all times.
