Description

"Too Many Tamales- Bringing Children's Books to life" is a hands on class designed to teach students teamwork, a love of theater and dance while developing their writing skills. The class will be customized based on student age. Students will read Too Many Tamales and together with the leadership of professional dancers/actors develop a play based on the story. "Too Many Tamales- Bringing Children's Books to Life” promises to educate about history, geography, writing and culture while promoting a healthy lifestyle and improving self-esteem. As the grade of the student increases our teachers will begin to incorporate more advanced elements of theater, dance and performing arts into the theater piece they will play out. *Program length: 3 months - 1 semester

Students Will

  • build costumes, props and sets for public performance
  • Work together to create an original play based on stories read
  • Learn about how the geography influenced stories and traditions of cultures around the world.

Cancellation Policy: Any cancellations must be called in (office #:214-828-0181) AND also submitted in writing (via email: [email protected] or fax #: 214-828-0101) no later than 5 business days prior to the scheduled performance or workshop.
After School Policy: For after school programs, a school representative must be on site in the case of discipline problems. After the class is finished, a school representative is responsible to make sure proper guardians pick up students.
