Description

How do aquatic animals survive underwater? They have amazing adaptations! Learn about these special aquatic adaptations in this interactive program that includes live education animals. (Reservations cannot be made during the dates of the State Fair of Texas.)

Students Will

  • Learn how adaptations help an animal survive.
  • Compare and contrast aquatic animal adaptations.
  • Explore the role the environment plays determining animal’s adaptations.
  • Develop a further understanding of and appreciation for the natural world.

School Fee: $160/program (1-20 students). $8/additional student (max of 30 students/program). Price includes Aquarium admission. 1 free adult per 10 students. $4/additional adult.

Other Information: Multiple programs can be scheduled to accommodate large groups. Reservations cannot be made during the dates of the State Fair of Texas. - Parking at Fair Park is managed by the City of Dallas. Parking is usually free unless there is a paid event at Fair Park. The Children’s Aquarium at Fair Park has no control over parking fees in the event that the City of Dallas charges for parking at Fair Park.

Scheduling / Booking

Instructions: Your Learning Partner voucher is NOT a field trip reservation. To schedule a field trip or program, you must register at www.dallaszoo.com or www.childrensaquariumfairpark.com, at least 2 weeks in advance of the requested date AND include your Learning Partners voucher number, approval code, and amount approved when you register. Learning Partners funding will not be applied retroactively to your reservations. Your field trip or program is confirmed when you receive a confirmation letter from us which includes a reservation number. Field trips and programs cannot be scheduled at the Children’s Aquarium at Fair Park during the State Fair of Texas. Your school may still owe a balance if the total reservation cost is not covered by Learning Partners. Visit website for complete scheduling details.
Deadline: Programs must be booked 2 weeks in advance of program date.
Cancellation Policy: Your reservation may be rescheduled once without penalty. Additional reschedules will be charged $25 per instance. Reschedule dates must be at least two (2) weeks in advance. Cancellations must be received in writing at least one (1) week prior to the date of your visit. Refunds will not be issued for any amount under $20, for cancellations made within one (1) week of the scheduled date, or for no-show groups. Your school (and/or Big Thought/Learning Partners if using LP funding) will be invoiced for the total reservation cost if you fail to show for your field trip/program or cancel within one (1) week of the scheduled date. We will do our best to accommodate late arrivals, but we reserve the right to cancel or adjust programs as needed. The Dallas Zoo and Children's Aquarium at Fair Park reserves the right to change these policies without notice. Inclement Weather Policy: The Dallas Zoo and Children's Aquarium at Fair Park are open rain or shine. Field trips and programs will be cancelled if DISD is closed due to inclement weather. Rescheduling fees due to DISD closure will be waived. Reschedule dates must be at least two (2) weeks in advance. We will do our best to accommodate late arrivals, but we reserve the right to cancel or adjust programs as needed. The Dallas Zoo and Children's Aquarium at Fair Park reserves the right to change these policies without notice.
After School Policy: A teacher or responsible adult must be present throughout the entire program. After school programs can be held outdoors or indoors, but a temperature controlled heated/cooled facility must be readily accessible for outdoor programs.
