Standards

Description

Ever wonder how snakes swallow their prey whole or how beavers cut down trees? In this instructor-led, dialogue based program, students observe taxidermy specimens, skulls, pelts and other natural items to uncover the ways in which animals are both physically and behaviorally adapted to survive, and thrive, in their habitats. Self-Guided Permanent Exhibit Halls are included with education program bookings. Students Will

  • Understand how environment affects adaptation
  • Observe animal pelts, skeletons and taxidermy
  • Learn about the basic needs of animals

Details

Dates: Monday- Friday
Times: 10, 11, 12, 1, 2
Duration: 45 minutes for program, exhibits self-paced
School Fee: $12.00 each student. One required Teacher/Chaperone free with every 7 students. Additional adults (over the 1:7 ratio) $6.00 each for exhibits only.
Minimum Attendance: 10
Maximum Attendance: 30
Bilingual: No
Technical Needs: Various exhibit spaces may be closed due to programming and maintenance.

Please refer to your field trip confirmation materials for important details. Bus Parking is free. Leave lunches on your bus. Single-car parking is available for a fee.

Deadline: Please call to book your program at least 3 weeks before your desired date.
Cancellation Policy: Science Programs: Due to the more limited amount of funding through Learning Partners the Perot is pleased to offer Financial Aid to schools who apply and qualify. By applying for this program your fees for our field trip exhibit visits/programs and on your campus programs could be reduced or eliminated. Art Programs: The Perot Museum is excited to offer a Self Guided Art Infused Tour of the Museum. Please check out this listing under the ART program offerings. Please be sure to fill out our Field Trip or On Your Campus Request Form AND the Financial Aid Form found below (copy and paste the link into your browser). NO OTHER REFUNDS WILL BE ISSUED
