Description
Expedition field trips led by Audubon education staff/volunteers and Texas Master Naturalist educators, designed to strengthen critical thinking skills across multiple disciplines and incorporate hands-on, inquiry-based learning strategies linked with state-mandated Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills objectives for grades 1-6. Students fortify their scientific observation and identification skills and gain knowledge to become a steward of our natural resources. Students will explore the three main ecosystems of the Trinity River Audubon Center: the Bottomland Hardwood Forest, the Blackland Prairie, and the Trinity River. Each field trip includes a nature hike, animal encounter, and water quality experiment!
Students Will
Learn about water quality by studying macro-invertebrates
Explore the habitats and trails of our Audubon Center.
Experience a live animal encounter to learn about adaptations of native species

Cancellation Policy:
All notices of cancellation, reschedule request, and changes in number of students attending must be reported to the Trinity River Audubon Center ten business days in advance of the scheduled visit. Schools will be charged the full program fee if they fail to provide adequate notification of cancellation or rescheduling.
