Description

Inside our SPOC (space portal odyssey capsule) planetarium, students will have the opportunity to land on the Moon, visit the planets, or even leave the Milky Way galaxy! SPOC is an interactive and engaging planetary experience for students of all ages. Visit flightmuseum.com/space-odyssey-capsule for more information on our grade-specific programming.

Students Will

  • Learn about the stars (including our Sun), Earth, and Moon by comparing size, color, and position. (For PK-2nd graders)
  • Compare characteristics of the Sun, Earth, and Moon system to better understand the states of matter, effects of having an atmosphere, and pull of gravity! (For 2nd-5th graders)
  • Visit each planet in our solar system comparing their physical and chemical properties, location, seasons, weather, and natural satellites. (For 3rd graders and higher)

Dates: Available Monday – Friday
Times: Available during open Museum hours (10am - 5pm)
Duration: Approximately 45 minutes for each program
School Fee: Classroom=$120/program (35 students max); Auditorium=$160/program (80 students max)

Scheduling / Booking

Instructions: Please choose either the Field Trip or Outreach Program Request Form and request your reservation online at https://www.flightmuseum.com/education/. Deadline: Submit and online request form (https://www.flightmuseum.com/education-programs/) at least two weeks prior to the requested date
Cancellation Policy: Cancellation Policy: A non refundable deposit or an Arts Partners voucher and approval code is due within 10 days of booking your program. Your remaining balance is due two weeks before your confirmed visit date. A program is confirmed when you receive your confirmation e-mail. Should inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances prevent the program from taking place as scheduled, the Frontiers of Flight Museum will work with you to reschedule. Changing dates for a program can be made with sufficient advance notice (prior to 48 hours of the confirmed date) and we will make every effort to reschedule your program to an alternate date. No refunds will be given for absent students. All programs will begin promptly at the time scheduled. Cancellation of the program after confirmation is subject to full payment.
