Description

Characters wear period costumes and bring a variety of props and supplies to lead an interactive demonstration of Pioneer Life from the 1800's delivered from the first-person perspective. Choose from: spinning, carding, butter churning, corn grinding, games, laundry, candle dipping, honey bee keeping & many more. Students may also learn about life of a Cowhand and see his gear or visit with a trapper and see his collection of wild animal furs that were living in Texas in the 1800's. Please don't hesitate to ask if you have something in mind that is not listed here. We can tailor a program just for you. Programs utilize a small group setting to allow for maximum student interaction. Many programs combine science, math, history, economics, theater and/or art, and all boost background knowledge and vocabulary.
