Texas Discovery Gardens is a 7.5 acre organic garden featuring native and adapted plants. Inside, our two-story Rosine Smith Sammons Butterfly House and Insectarium transports you to a tropical rainforest, complete with hundreds of free-flying butterflies. Located in Dallas' historic Fair Park, Texas Discovery Gardens is a year-round organically maintained urban oasis filled with natural wonders. Explore our various gardens, Natural Playscape playground area, Snakes of Texas house, artist gallery, honeybee exhibit and insect displays.


Scheduling Info: Please visit https://txdg.org/field-trips to fill out the reservation form to start the booking process. Be prepared to provide your contact information, Voucher number, Approval Code, approximate number of students and program selection.
Cancellation Policy: Any remaining balance is due two weeks before your scheduled visit date. If you need for any reason to reschedule your program you must contact the Booking Department at least two weeks before your scheduled visit in order for your deposit/payment to be applied to your new visit date. Rescheduling is available in the event of TDG equipment failures, power failures, school closings by ISD or inclement weather. If in doubt due to weather, please call the Education department to confirm weather conditions at the Gardens. Your program is only guaranteed at the scheduled start time noted in your voucher and TDG Invoice. TDG follows the DISD School Closing decisions for inclement weather. All payments are non-refundable. Refunds are ONLY available in the event of failures on the part of TDG (power outages, equipment malfunctions, etc.). We will do our best to accommodate late arrivals, but we reserve the right to cancel or adjust program.
