Description

With virtual school programs, you’ll get the same level of quality Chefsville is known for. Virtual assemblies are fun, interactive, and tailored to the level and interests of your students. Time for a celebration! Cinco de Mayo is a great celebration about overcoming obstacles even when the odds seem overwhelming, and students will learn to apply the story of Cinco de Mayo to their lives as they learn about the holiday's history in this program. Students will embark on a journey of discovery as they learn about Mexico's struggles for independence from Spain and other nations who conquered it. They will also explore how the Native Americans, Mexicans, and Texans traded goods and equipment needed for their basic needs. Cultural traditions are discussed and students are prompted to compare the different ways Cinco de Mayo is celebrated around the world, with a focus on the cuisine and culinary techniques used. Students will join the Chef in a culinary adventure that highlights some of the ingredients and dishes that are popular on this holiday and will assist the Chef in making, assembling and tasting a dish that celebrates Cinco de Mayo. During all of our hybrid virtual programs, students can type in questions for us to answer, which makes the programs interactive. Students always have tons of questions about food and cooking! Chefsville can answer all kinds of questions making our program unique and fun.
