Description

Discover how an artist can express an idea in a flat artwork, like a painting or drawing, and in a three-dimensional sculpture. Students will learn how to create 3D artworks using 2D materials.

Students Will

  • Learn the difference between two-dimensional and three-dimensional works of art
  • Discover how artists’ 2D works on paper can inform 3D sculptures
  • Find cultural and personal connections to artworks
  • Engage in critical thinking and creative expression

Dates: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays
Times: 9:00 am - 3:00 pm

Scheduling / Booking

Instructions: Visits should not be considered booked unless you have contacted the Nasher Sculpture Center and a confirmation email has been received. Call 214.242.5170. Three or more weeks in advance is suggested to reserve your desired tour time. Guided school tours are offered on Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 10 am and 11 am. Self-guided tours are offered most hours the Center is open. On a school tour, sixty people is the maximum number allowed per hour to visit the Center.
Deadline: 3 weeks in advance
Cancellation Policy: Please contact the Nasher Sculpture Center (214-242-5170) as soon as the decision is made to cancel the school trip, so another school can have the opportunity to schedule that tour time.
After School Policy: Self-guided tours should not be considered booked unless you have contacted the Nasher Sculpture Center and a confirmation email has been received.
