This program helps students discover the uses of energy in cooking with practical cooking experiments. In our program, students will explore the properties of matter and energy through exciting cooking demonstrations. Kids will discover how chefs harness the power of energy in baking and cooking with the use of freezing and boiling points. Through various cooking methods, students learn how energy transforms substances into solids, liquids, and gases. We will engage their senses to better grasp the various forms of energy through convection, conduction, radiant heat, and chemical reactions. We will dive into the world of cooking/baking and uncover some secrets of freezing and boiling points. Here we will observe the transformative effects of energy on different foods. Our chef instructor will help connect and understand the many uses of other forms of energy such as solar, light, magnetic, and sound energy in everyday life. Chefsville’s virtual programming with Zoom combines lessons, images, videos, cooking demonstrations, and equipment to explore the connections between science and cooking. These fun programs help students understand what it is like to work with food and connect the skills they learn in the classroom. Up to 52 students are included in the price. Extra classes/students will be prorated.
