Puppeteering is a skill that demands and encourages creative verbal skills, hand-eye co-ordination and teamwork. Even the shy student is released to become engaged and creative. Lynn Baskind brings along bags of muppets, rod puppets and hand puppets of all sizes. She playfully teaches puppeteering skills. Everyone participates in creating amusing short scenes and plays. The content of the program is specifically adapted to age level. Students are having such fun that they hardly realize that they are building literacy skills and enhancing impromptu speaking and presentation skills. Lynn is a former High School Math and English teacher and brings with her a vast experience as a drama teacher, puppeteer, and edutainer. Lynn has made or modified all her puppets and demonstrates these visual arts puppet-making techniques with students. She hopes to inspire students to continue being inventive and creative with puppets. Everyone loves this memorable, dynamic, inspiring experience. Students Will

  • Create impromptu dialogue to act playlets
  • Learn to use voice and movement to manipulate puppets
  • Design storyline with beginning, middle, climax, end
  • Explore character and caricature
  • Co-operate in teams and perform playlets


Dates: Monday - Friday
Times: 8am - 6pm
Duration: In school: two 45 minute back-to-back programs. Afterschool: one 75 minute program.
School Fee: Price Per Additional Hour: $100.00
Price Per Hour: $100.00
Minimum Attendance: 15
Maximum Attendance: 35

Technical Needs: Large room with space to move around. Auditorum, cafeteria, library, or music room ideal.

Scheduling / Booking

Instructions: Please email [email protected] to schedule a program at least two weeks before the program date. Confirmed when you receive your contract via email. Please call Lynn to discuss program contents - math, literature or both: 972 733 0596. Lynn will confirm that she is coming at least one week before the program's scheduled date.
Deadline: Two weeks prior to program date.
Cancellation Policy: Should illness, inclement weather or other unforseen circumstances take place, Lynn offers the option of re-scheduling. Full payment required if program is canceled on the day of the program.
After School Policy: A teacher or afterschool employee must remain with class at all times. Preferable if teacher participates in the program.
