Cara Mía Theatre addresses teachers' and students' TEKS objectives in Theatre Arts, Language Arts, and Social Studies through Touring shows in Schools, Classes and Residencies, Student Matinees, Virtual Plays for Youth, The School of yes! Summer Camp. Currently, Cara Mía offers a touring show based on Texas History TEKS. Other performances center on Mexican and Mexican-American culture but appeal to all ethnicities through Cara Mía's trademark performance style. Residencies cultivate creative writing skills through playwriting and stagecraft. One playwriting residency reinforces Texas History TEKS as students create scenes based on their class curriculum. Performances are in English with some Spanish, and all residencies are available in English, Spanish, or both.
