The Writer's Garret is the only full-service literary center in North Texas, established to foster the education and development of readers, writers, and audiences by putting them in touch with quality literature, each other, and the communities in which they live and write. The Writers in Neighborhoods & Schools program (WINS) provides schools with writers who are passionate and knowledgeable about reading and writing and offer unique ways to ignite students' excitement and creativity. Several different programs are available for adaptation in partnership with each school as we strive for improved language skills, critical thinking, and positive self-expression.

Scheduling Info: To schedule this program, or for more information, call The Writer's Garret at (214) 828-1715 or email [email protected]. Residencies of 10 sessions or more result in a printed anthology of students' work and the opportunity for students to show off newly developed skills in a public reading to friends and family.
Cancellation Policy: A minimum of 48 hours notice is required to cancel a scheduled date. If 48-hour notice is given, we will reschedule the date, based upon the availability of the Instructor. If 48-hour notice is not given, we will bill for the date scheduled and not reschedule the date.
After School Policy At least one school representative/teacher must be present in the classroom at all times. 25 students maximum per class. Minor adjustments can be negotiated.
